It's been slow for us & helping out with homeless critters has been hard since out foster homes are few an far between....so if you are thinking of getting a dog or cat or rabbit or bird but not sure if your schedule will permit, give fostering a try!!! It is temporary and STOP will help with any issues you may have while fostering. If you're interested just send us an e-mail.

Who We Are
Save the Orphaned Pets is a non-profit 501 c 3 animal welfare organization based in Hope NJ. Our staff is all volunteers so help is always needed and appreciated. We do not have a shelter or holding facility so we rely strictly on foster homes. Along with adoption and surrender counciling services, we have a low cost spay/neuter program, and offer humane education programs for schools and local organizations and youth groups.
Through fund raising efforts we hope to open an animal sanctuary in Northern Warren County New Jersey in the future. This place would provide a quiet, safe and loving environment for homeless animals until we can find them forever homes. It will also provide sanctuary to those animals who are not adoptable for whatever reason and give them a loving home to live out their lives. Adopting a friend
Our adoption process involes some interviewing and paperwork. Initially we will do a phone screening. Home checks are preferrabel and references are required. It takes time to find that perfect match and we do this not only with the best interest of our animals in mind but for your best interest also. While it may take a little bit of time, the foster homes allows us to give potential adoptors a better idea of how their pet of interest will fit into their lives.
We highly encourage ALL of our adoptive families to take their new family members to obedience training. It helps everyone assimilate to your new relationships and it's fun!!!
