Kittens, Kittens, Kittens !!

HAAL has the cutest, most cuddly kittens waiting to find their forever homes. All of our kittens are tested for feline aids and feline leukemia, vaccinated appropriately for their age, and dewormed. Stop by and meet these beautiful little babies.

A Very Special Fundraiser: The Rainbow Bridge Memorial Mural

HAAL has created a beautiful, lasting memorial to the pets that have left our lives. We have all had to deal with the devastating loss of a beloved pet and wanted to create something that would not only honor the ones that are gone, but will help the pets at our shelter as well. The beautiful mural was painted by talented volunteer Joe and depicts the land around Rainbow bridge. The beautiful green pastures are full of animals playing as a majestic rainbow reaches into the heavens. With a $50.00 donation you can have your pet's name placed on the memorial. 100% of your donation goes directly to the care of our shelter cats. The memorial is open to all types of pets including cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, etc. Please call HAAL for more information 973-429-3002.

CARATS FOR CATS CONTINUES

HAAL is still accepting gold jewelery for our CARATS FOR CATS campaign. Do you have an earing missing its mate? A broken chain, watch or bracelet ? Old school rings? Jewelry so ugly, you have no idea why you bought it? Donate it to HAAL. We will sell it for its carat weight and use the proceeds to care for our cats. Remember donations to HAAL are tax deductable and 100% of all donations goes directly to care for our cats and to maintain the shelter.

We need volunteers to help clean and maintain our shelter as well as help with fundraisers. If you can spare 2 hours a week or 4 hours a month please stop by and fill out a volunteer application.

The Homeless Animal Adoption League, Inc. (HAAL), was originally formed as the East Orange Animal League in 1989 by people concerned about the conditions at the East Orange pound. HAAL was incorporated in NJ in 1995 and is an all volunteer 501(c)3 (non-profit) organization.

Mission Statement


The Homeless Animal Adoption League is dedicated to providing a bright, clean, animal-friendly environment for cats available for adoption until permanent, loving homes can be found, as well as a place people can get information on pet care and other topics concerning animals.

Our Cats


All cats available for adoption have their vaccinations, including Rabies if they are over 4 mos. old, and are wormed once. All cats are tested for FIV and Leukemia. Spaying or neutering the pet is part of the requirement for adoption. The fee for an adoption is $98.
