"What is a man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man."

Rescheduled "Paws in the Park" Walk-a-thon 12:30-4:00pm on June 2nd!
South Plainfield Cadette Troop 65883 are working on "The Girl Scout Silver Award" and have rescheduled the "Paws in the Park" walk-a-thon which seeks to raise awareness of animal rescue groups and the benefits of adopting a rescue dog, cat or rabbit. This is still being held in Putnam Park, South Plainfield, on the corner of Park and Oak Tree Aves. It will run from 12:30-4:00pm on June 2nd.
The Girls Scouts encourage you to stop by the park with or without your pet and take a walk in support of this cause. In order to participate the Girl Scouts ask you to bring 2 pet items (food, toys, etc.) that will be donated to the animal rescue groups that will be participating. Of course, PAHS will be there along with Home for Good Dogs, Whiskers &Wags, SARA Cats, Tibetan Terrier Rescue, and Safe Haven Rabbit Rescue, etc!
This promises to be a great day for the animals and us two legged folks. We hope you will join us and help the Girl Scouts get the Silver Award!
Our Volunteers ROCK!
These 2 young ladies, Rebecca Freedman and Isabella Iacona, are students at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. They are participating in the Hurricane Relief Project and chose PAHS to help clean up after Superstorm Sandy. It was still a little chilly that week but they came prepared and cleaned up some of our property of sticks, branches and everything else that got blown around. They even gave Emily's garden a sprucing up! What a great help they were in getting a jump on the spring cleaning! Thank you ladies!

We Need Your Purina Weight Circles!!
We wanted to remind everyone to save the weight circles from the bags of any Purina pet food and send them to us. We then send them to Purina and they in turn send us a check made out to our veterinarian, the Plainfield Animal Hospital. This helps us pay on our bill. Everything helps!

Many Thanks To...
Best Friends Pet Care for hosting the Photo shoot. They donated the sitting fee to the animals at PAHS.
Suburban Jewelers for continuing to donate a percentage of the sale of gold and jewelry to PAHS, and Lynn Forsell, the latest donor who sold her gold. Everyone benefits from this program!

A thank you to the students of the Franklin Elementary School in South Plainfield for donating the money collected in the Penny War they held. They collected $650.00!! The students decided they wanted to donate all of it to PAHS. How wonderful and humbling, what great kids!!
