"I once decided not to date a guy because he wasn't excited to meet my dog. I mean, this was like not wanting to meet my mother."

Be a Calendar Girl, with your pups!
We're planning a 2011 calendar that will feature twelve months of puppies and.... puppies? We want to "expose" the softer side of PAHS, by showcasing PAHS supporters and their adopted puppies and kittens. We're looking for women willing to pose with their real dogs, cats, puppies and /or kittens discreetly hiding their "puppies", if you get my drift! Models will pose for our professional photographer Lori Fleissner in private. Our calendar will be PG rated with no nudity, but a bit risque. Contact the shelter if you are interested.
Come to our Gold Selling Party...
Mark your calendar for February 27th at 7:00 pm at 117 Marlboro Street, Westfield for an evening of making money from Gold! Now, that's what I call FUN! Bring your old, broken, outdated or unwanted jewelry in any condition to be evaluated by Lisa Cohen of Suburban Jewelers, Plainfield. You receive payment immediately! Best of all, the shelter receives 10% of the take for the evening. The more you bring, the more you get, and the more we make! Refreshments will be served. We have room for about 25 people, so if you'd like to be included, contact Sue at the shelter.

PAHS Needs Your Help for Vinnie Van Gogh!
This shy little poodle mix was brought to us as a horrible neglect case, so matted he could barely walk. Once the mats were removed, even more horribly we found that his ear was so infected that it needed to be removed.

His rehab is continuing, but the vet bill is large. With our Valentine's Fund depleted, we now owe the vet for his surgery and recovery, and we don't have it. Can you help? Any excess donated will be put back into the Valentines Fund to help the next homeless pet in need.!

Vote for Rowdy at Bissell MVP Contest!
Rowdy needs your vote to win! Please log in and vote at
Bissell MVP . It could mean a $10,000 prize for the shelter, courtesy of Alison Katla!
Voting for this round ends February 4th, and you can vote as many times as you have email addresses. Please tell all your friends to vote for Rowdy!

Thanks To Christina Talucci!
We want to thank Christina Talucci for donating a case (fifty!) of Stretch and Scratch cat scratchers for the amusement of our feline residents. Christina is a college student on a tight budget, so we know how much this donation means. Christina also volunteers her time on breaks and during the summer. We wish we had more supporters like Christina, she's the best!
