Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) is an all-volunteer, donation-supported non-profit 501(c)(3) humane education, animal rescue, and caregiver assistance organization located in New Jersey.
Some of our programs include:
* Working with the community to help decrease the number of animals abandoned or relinquished to shelters;
* Adoption day events at Bridgewater PetSmart to help place homeless animals into permanent homes;
* Promoting kindness and compassion toward all animals. Visit our Public Outreach program - The Animal Spirit.
All of our programs depend on donations to continue operating.

Adopting A Friend
Please note: Not all of our adoptable kittens and cats are listed on Petfinder. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us. We're sure we have the purrfect match for you! HAL is always networking with shelters and other rescues in an effort to save as many lives as possible.
Your application will be reviewed by our Adoption Committee. If it is approved, a HAL representative will call you within a week. Arrangements for the adoption would be made at that time. If you do not receive a call within a week, the application was not approved. Please note there are many reasons why an application may not be approved, and should not be taken as a reflection on you. Our adoptable cats are all safely living in a network of foster homes, which affords us the opportunity to carefully match up each cat with his or her new "forever home."
How You Meet Us
Animals in our program reside at private homes of foster caregivers and remain within our organization until a permanent home is found. Our animals are shown at Bridgewater PetSmart, Saturdays, 11:30AM-3PM.
145 Promenade Blvd.
HAL's adoption fee is $75.00 per kitten/cat. Adoption fees collected are donations to HAL, not payment for your cat (s). 100% of the adoption fees collected go towards payment of the veterinary fees and costs associated with caring for your cat while in our Foster and Adoption Program. Fees collected offset costs for current fosters and enable HAL to continue with our rescue efforts. HAL is run by a 100% volunteer staff. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and your adoption fee is tax deductible to the full extent provided by law.
How You Can Help
OUR WISH LIST: Gift Cards from Petsmart or Petco, cat litter, wet and dry cat/kitten food, cat treats and toys, paper towels, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, office supplies such as postage stamps, envelopes, printing paper, carrying cases.
DONATIONS: We are an all-volunteer organization. HAL depends on donations to keep our programs running. Check with your employer for matching funds programs. All
donations are tax-deductible.
FOSTER HOMES: Foster Parents provide temporary care for kittens and cats in their Somerset County area homes. Some cats only need a home for a few weeks, others may need much longer. By offering your time, energy, and home to a cat in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent, loving home. HAL is always looking for foster homes. The more Foster Parents we have, the more lives we will be able to save. If you have what it takes to be a foster mom or dad, fill out an application today!
