THE KITTY OF THE YEAR: STAR – noun a self-luminous celestial body held together by its own gravity. Usually twinkling points or one who is highly celebrated. Meet Star she is both! I AM STAR and wait until you read my story, a fairytale story of never giving up hope. When I was discovered by a nice rescue group C.A.T.S. from a barn in Huntington County. I was a mess, in pretty bad shape and sick. They took me and I got immediate medical attention. Because it was around Christmas time in 2007 thus I was called a lucky Star. After many visits to the vet for tests and medication , I was diagnosed with a heart murmur and Asthma. I was at this nice lady and she took me back and forth to the vet staying in a basement because there were other kitties and I was not fond of them. The basement is not good for my condition, but at least I was inside, feed and got tender care. But I never got out of my shell and so everyone who came to look to adopt a kitty passed my up when they heard of my condition. Well this was it pretty much no one wanted me and I needed also a stress free environment not to aggravate my condition. BUT one day this nice lady Laura Lee and her husband Bob came and adopted me. They were not afraid to tackle my condition the way I was. Now adopted by Laura Lee and Bob, Star was very shy and hiding much of the time. Though months later now her life is anything but shy….lots of patience and love Star turned out to be a great cuddler, she lets Matt the dog give her a doggie bath licking her face, She sleeps on the bed with the other cat Bella, acts like an otter laying on her back praying to the tuna gods then gets a belly rub. Adopting a special needs cat is more than rewarding, the love you get in return can not be measured. When animals are loved and nurtured Star is a perfect example of anything can happen! Hope – intransitive verb, to cherish a desire with anticipation. Laura Lee and Bob Kreminski
We are dedicated to finding loving and responsible homes for our homeless animals. We will have you complete an adoption application form when we meet with you. We also ask that all members of your household be present at the time of adoption to be sure all are compatible. You must be at least 21 years old and have proper identification with your current address. We strictly enforce our policy of altering all our cats and dogs before being adopted. When adopting one of our critters, we ask that a donation is made just to cover innoculation and spay/neuter costs.
