Who We Are
BARKS (Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad) is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization founded in 1973 to provide veterinary care, housing and permanent placement of stray and abandoned cats and dogs. BARKS works in association with the Byram Pound located on Mansfield Drive in Byram Township, N.J. In addition to the pets that can be seen at the Byram Pound, we also have many cats in foster homes and several dogs in local kennels. These pets can be seen by appointment and at our regularly scheduled adoption days.Directions
From the south and east:
Route 80 West to Exit 25, Route 206 North to 3rd traffic light. Right onto Lackawana Drive, first right onto Mansfield, first right into municipal complex. The pound is located next to the police station.
From the north and west:
Route 206 South through Newton and Andover into Byram. After Byram Shoprite, left at traffic light onto Lackawana Drive, first right onto Mansfield, first right into municipal complex. The pound is located next to the police station.

All pets can be seen by appointment by calling (973) 300-3185. In addition, many adoptable pets can be seen at our regularly scheduled adoption days which are listed in the event calendar.
