We are a small family run rescue that is working hard with a network of other rescues and shelters in New England, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with the intent of saving southern dogs from rural county high kill shelters. These shelters use barbaric and inhumane means for euthanizing, such as the gas chambers and heart stick; it is a painful and cruel way to die. The animals that are transported up here live with us in our home as part of our family. Our young children work with them daily to help socialize them and prepare them for family life. We have our own pack that we socialize them with. We work a great deal on trust with them. In no time with food & water in their tummies and a warm and comfortable place to sleep with a bit of kindness and a gently hand these special babies come around into the most wonderful companions. These animals are so grateful for your kindness they give it back ten fold and more. THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING TO ADOPT, AND SAVE A LIFE!
I WOULD HAVE DIED THAT DAY IF NOT FOR YOU
I would have died that day if not for you.
I would have given up on life if not for your kind eyes.
I would have used my teeth in fear if not for your gentle hands.
I would have left this life believing that all humans don't care
Believing there is no such thing as fur that isn't matted
skin that isn't flea bitten
good food and enough of it
beds to sleep on
someone to love me
to show me I deserve love just because I exist.
Your kind eyes, your loving smile, and your gentle hands
your big heart saved me...
You saved me from the terror of the pound,
soothing away the memories of my old life.
You have taught me what it means to be loved.
I have seen you do the same for other dogs like me.
I have heard you ask yourself in times of despair
Why you do it
When there is no more money, no more room, no more homes
You open your heart a little bigger, stretch the money a little tighter
Make just a little more room...to save one more like me.
I tell you with the gratitude and love that shines in my eyes
In the best way I know how
Reminding you why you go on trying.
I am the reason
the dogs before me are the reason
as are the ones who come after.
Our lives would've been wasted, our love never given
we would die if not for you
Adopting A Friend
WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL SHELTER, all of our dogs are cared for by our volunteers in their homes all across New England. Foster homes are critical to our rescue efforts. Our foster families provide food, shelter and most importantly socialization for these special animals. The first step to adopting is to fill out an adoption application. It will be reviewed and your references will be checked. If you are a good match for the dog you are interested in adopting, you will receive a call to set up an appointment to meet your possible new family member at its foster home. Adoption fees are determined on an individual basis. Many dogs have required some more extensive veterinary care, boarding or special transportation arrangements. We determine that fee based upon these circumstances.
WE REQUIRE ARE ADOPTERS TO BE 21 YEARS OF AGE
We do not receive any state or federal funding, our organization operates solely on the money we put into it personally, along with adoption fees and general donations. All donations are completely tax deductible & you will receive a letter for your taxes. All donations benefit the dogs in our adoption program. We are always in need of committed volunteers like ourselves to foster these wonderful animals. We would love to be part of your adoption experience, please let me know we can help in any way or if you have any questions. You can make donations directly to one of our vets: Marlborough Veterinary Clinic, 115 Main Street, Marlborough, NH 03455 Send a note asking it to be put into the Puppy Railroad Rescue account OR make a donation though the Paypal button.
