Nebraska Dachshund Rescue started in the Fall of 2007, and we are proud to have saved more than 500 dachshunds so far.
All of the money we raise will go towards vet care of the dogs we bring in and re-home. Sadly, many of the dogs that we save require extensive medical procedures, that far exceeds the adoption fee. So, support from our friends, fundraisers and donations are vital in our continued efforts to save Dachshunds within our reach.

Volunteers--- we need volunteers. If you can volunteer your time to foster, help fundraise or transport dogs please let us know.
To donate please send a check to: Nebraska Dachshund Rescue (NDR) P.O. BOX 390991 Omaha, Ne 68139-0991 Or, you make click here to help support our cause and help save another dachshund that needs us.
Our adoption procedures and requirements include:
1- Fence (preferred, there are certain dachshunds who may not require this)
2- Phone interview
3- Home visit
4- Once you have been approved, we can schedule a meet up or overnight stay.
5- Signing an adoption contract
6- If the dog does not work out in your home, you will return him/her to NDR.
The adoption fee is $250.
Puppies will require an addtional $100 refundable spay/neuter fee.
Some dogs may have a reduced fee, due to age. However, in most cases, the older dogs actually cost more for us to take care of their medical and/or basic needs.
For the most part, the fee covers all medical needs, to include vaccinations, heart-worm testing, dental work and spay/neuter. In most cases, it does not.
Thanks to the wonderful supporters of NDR, our donations help to offset the additional costs, which helps keep our adoption fee low.
