Hey Everyone! My name is Marcus. I’m a sweet lovable guy. I know all my commands, and I love to be with people. In fact, I love to be with people so much that it gets me into trouble. Now I KNOW that it’s a mistake when people leave me here alone in this kennel cage. They must just get busy and forget me. I hate being alone. I’m a people dog. I need to be inside with my family. I get so lonely when I’m all by myself. Right now I have to stay outside in the kennel ALL the time, cause there are lots of dogs here. AND because they let one of those silly cats live inside. I don’t get along with them too well. So they won’t let me be inside with them where I belong. I don’t make messes in the house. I’m too smart for that. What I would love to do is find someone who is home most of the time that will let me live, eat, sleep, and play with them. If they are in the house, I want to be in there with them. If they are outside, I want to be outside with them. I promise to work very hard at being a good boy. I’d be a wonderful friend for a retired person who stays at home instead of going to that silly place called work. (By the way, why would anyone want to go to “work” when you could stay home and spend the day with me? I just don’t understand it). Please talk my foster mom if you think you would like to have a smart, loyal companion like me! Wouldn’t that be a great way to begin this year? I’ll be waiting for you! Marcus
Our group is dedicated to rescuing Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in need and placing them in loving homes. Rescued dogs come from animal shelters, from owners who no longer can care for them in a responsible way, and strays found wandering at large.
Chesapeake Bay Relief and Rescue works with other CBR rescue groups and national rescue organizations. Our volunteers work with shelters, rescue organizations and individuals who need help in placing or evaluating a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. One of our major goals is to educate the public, breeders, owners and potential Chessie owners on the special qualities, characteristic and requirements of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
Our volunteers are available to provide unique educational expertise to help Chesapeake Bay Retrievers owners to ensure problem behaviors are dealt with before the dog is abandoned.
If you are a Chesapeake Bay Retriever owner, please consider supporting Chessie rescue, becoming a volunteer, or fostering a rescued Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
If you are thinking of becoming a Chesapeake Bay Retriever owner, please consider a rescued dog.
