Who We Are
Welcome Waggin' Rescue is not a shelter facility but a private home. As such, we have the ability to provide hands-on socialization and training for the lost souls that cross our threshold. They have to learn how to live with other dogs and cats, are crate trained and learn self confidence. Above all, they learn that human hands CAN be gentle. They then wait patiently for their perfect family to appear.
What We Do
I promise I will take your unwanted and abandoned animals. I will heal their wounds, their diseases, their broken bones. I will give them the medical attention they need and deserve. I will nurture their starvation and give them a warm place to sleep. I will spay/neuter them, vaccinate them against the diseases that can harm them, treat and honor them. I will buy them toys, blankets, balls and teach them to play. I will speak softly to them. I will try to teach them not to fear, not to cry, not to hate. I will whisper sweet, kind, gentle words into their ears while gently trying to stroke their fear, their pain and their scars away. I will face their emotional scars and give them time to overcome them. I will socialize them, house train them, teach them to be obedient, show them dignity, hold their paws, and stroke their ears. And if they have endured too much, I will help them walk over the Rainbow Bridge.
BUT most of all I will teach them Love.
Adopting a Friend
Each dog that arrives here will be completely vetted, HW tested and started on a preventive, spayed/neutered, brought UTD on vaccinations and put on a flea/tick preventive. Some of them are under the umbrella of the specific breed's national rescue and are here because no room is available for them anywhere else. Others are my sole responsibility and all are treated as my own. My goal is for them to be adopted by a family that will devote themselves to the lifelong care of the dog, ensuring his happiness and health.
I require adoption applications and contracts to be filled out, pre-adoption home checks and post-adoption follow-up visits. I have a lifelong commitment to each and every animal, as well as to the families that offer them a 'forever' home.
