Who We Are

The Coalition for Animal Protection was formed in 1991 and is an organization whose main purpose is the spaying and neutering of as many animals as possible to reduce the number of animals which roam the streets or may eventually be euthanized by animal shelters. The Coalition helps verified low-income pet owners to spay and neuter their animals whenever funds are available. Although the group is Omaha-based, members are also from Lincoln, Nebraska City, Gretna, Iowa and other areas. The Coalition also has other goals such as: - Educating the public on "First Strike" issues the connection between animal cruelty and human violence. - The Coalition can provide guidance for finding good and safe homes for pets. - Sponsoring free board for pets of domestic violence victims who must leave the home and do not want to leave their pet behind with an abusive family member. In addition, members of the Coalition trap feral cats for spay and/or neutering and find homes when possible for these animals.
