Hi Plains Animal Rescue and Welfare Society

Pet List

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to lack of support, an overwhelming influx of unwanted pets, some unfortunate events that financially broke us last year (from which we have been unable to recover), and other factors, HiPAWS closed its doors on October 1, 2007.

A new group has formed, so let's hope they are able to pick up the rescue mission where we left off, and that the pitfalls that overcame us will be surmountable for them. The bottom line is that these kinds of projects cannot be done by one person... it "takes a village," or at least, key players in a community to act in coordinated efforts toward the same goals.

Although we are closed, we have decided to continue this page for the benefit of pets that can use the extra exposure. In other words, despite being unable to rescue any more animals, we certainly can do some "courtesy posts" here so you can see more animals.

Who We Are

Our rescue group was formed in April, 2002, and consisted of a small network of animal advocates in our small town.
Sadly, as many moved away or quit, not enough new people joined to make up for it.

Adopting a friend

Since we began in 2002, we rescued and found homes for about 400 dogs and about the same number of cats.
