Husker's Hope Dachshund Rescue specializes in working with families and their dogs, to keep them at home, where they belong. Sometimes families just need a little assistance to train their dog or understand their needs, to enable a peaceful, happy co-existance, instead of having to deposit the family pet into a shelter.
Our primary mission is to educate the public and provide a friendly, non-judgemental source of information and help in understanding and working with the dachshund breed.
We are a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization. 100% of all proceeds go toward the animals in our care. Visit our website for more information. http://hhdr.org
If you are interested in adopting a dog through Husker's Hope, please visit our website and fill out an application. The process is quick, easy and ensures that we have enough information about you and your family, to pair you with the perfect dog, based on their needs and yours.
Our adoption fees cover the costs associated with basic veterinarian needs, such as shots, spay/neuter, dental work (as needed), heart-worm testing and any medical or training needed to help each dog assimilate to a new life and a new family.
Husker's Hope is truly a place of Hope and Healing. It is our mission to provide the therapies and treatments, and especially love, to those dachshunds that would otherwise be left without hope. Of course, Husker's Hope Dachshund Rescue also helps dachshunds that just need a home. We believe, being homeless, is a special need, as well.
At this time, we do not have a shelter to visit. We are 100% volunteer foster family based. This means that each dog in our rescue is living with a family. Because every family has their own schedule, we work with you and the foster family to arrange a time and place to meet and visit.
