Who We Are
We are a small group of volunteers in the states of North Dakota and Minnesota who want to help Alaskan Malamutes in need. We do not have foster homes and are currently working on a referral basis only. We connect people looking for a malamute with people and/or agencies that are searching for new homes for malamutes.
Adopting a friend
Please check out our available dogs listing. If you're interested in learning more about a dog please feel free to contact us and we can send out an adoption application and explain our adoption process to you. All adoptive and foster homes are screened and references are checked. We require adoptive homes to have 5-6 foot fencing. Although most malamutes easily tolerate an outdoor environment, they prefer to be with their humans. For this reason and because it is stressful enough to adjust to a new environment and family, MinnKota will not adopt a dog to a new home where he or she will live exclusively outdoors. Malamutes love children but must be supervised with them at all times. We prefer to adopt our malamutes to homes with older children. Generally a malamute needs to be adopted to a home without cats, although some malamutes are great with cats and other small animals.
The adoption fee for our Malamutes is $200.00.
Adoption fees cover some of the expenses of the dog while in rescue.
This includes medical, feeding and boarding expenses. Our dogs are current on all shots, heartworm negative and spayed /neutered.

Come Visit Us!
We do not have a facility. We're all volunteers working out of our homes. If you would like to meet a dog, contact us and we will arrange a meeting. Most of the dogs in our program are with their owners while we search for a new home for him/her. We also work with area shelters and other rescue programs.
