Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue, and Education
Who We Are
The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue and Education (C.A.A.R.E.) is a 501(c)(3) North Dakota nonprofit corporation devoted to educating the public about, and rehoming of, companion parrots. The organization is family oriented in nature, and both individual and family memberships are available. Requests for on-site visits to schools, nursing homes, and any other venue are welcomed. We welcome persons interested in adopting and/or fostering companion parrots Our mission to find suitable adoptive homes for these parrots is taken quite seriously. Fostering is a wonderful way to decide if a certain type of parrot is right for you and your family, without having to make an adoption commitment first. If you have a parrot that needs a home, if fostering, adoption, or an educational meeting appeals to you, or if you already have companion parrots and would like to be in the company of folks with like interests, please check us out!
Our website can be found at www.caare.net.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 200-MILE RADIUS OF FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA.
CAARE is dedicated to the well-being of all of the parrots we rescue. Applications for both foster care and adoption are required. Before any adoption can be approved, the parrot must be placed in the potential adoptive home for a minimum of 30 days in foster care. Applications for adoption are reviewed by the Adoption Committee for a decision on placement.
Any parrots placed by CAARE are not to be used for breeding purposes. These parrots may not be sold to others and must either: be returned to CAARE, or CAARE must be notified and approval needs to be obtained for any other placement of the parrot should the owners decide not to keep the parrot for any reason.
If you are interested in fostering and/or adopting a parrot, please contact us for additional information.
