Our Mission
German Shepherd Hope Rescue was founded to save German Shepherd Dogs from high kill shelters, abuse and abandonment. German Shepherd Hope Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit.We provide every foster and adoptive family with basic training and education to ensure a successful placement for the dogs we rescue. Every dog rescued will be spay/neutered, receive all necessary shots and immunizations, be treated for heartworms and/or any other diseases prior to being placed with a permanent home.
We are a Rescue with emphasis on North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting a German Shepherd dog from GSHR. We are excited that you are committed to this wonderful & noble breed. GSHR is here to help you with your quest in finding just the right dog for you.
We work with applicants in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Our adoption process consists first with a review of your completed application by a GSHR applicant screener, then a call to your current Vet, next a phone interview with you, and lastly a home visit. This process can take several weeks, so please be patient!
Once approved by GSHR a meet & greet will be arranged between the potential adopter and the foster parent to meet the dog. The adopter must travel to the dog.  The foster parent has the final say on who adopts their foster dog, as they know the dog best. Again, please be patient as we work together to find you the right match!
