Truffles came to our rescue in June of 2012 as an 8 week old puppy. She was 1 of 18 rescued from a family that was overwhelmed because they didn't have the means to spay/neuter their animals. They were never socialized and had never been to see a veterinarian. After their first vet visit we discovered that Truffles, her mother and 3 siblings had coccidea and ringworm. After two 14-day treatments of albon and 4 weeks of baths with special shampoo, all were cleared for adoption. Truffles is the only one who has not been adopted so we decided to feature her on our web page. She is extremely sweet and smart but she is frightened by small children. She will need to be adopted by a family with no small children. Truffles is so smart that she opens her kennel and puts her ownself to bed each night. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. She is house/kennel trained and is best as an inside/outside dog with a companion dog and fenced yard. Please call her foster mom, Rhonda Bowers, at (336) 880-5133 if you are interested in adopting or visiting with her. Thank you.
Friends In Need Animal Rescue, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no kill rescue located in Davidson County, NC. We have provided a sanctuary for abandoned, neglected, and abused animals since 2000. The animals we take in are tested, vaccinated, given all necessary medical treatment and medications, spayed/neutered, and rehabilitated to be adopted into loving homes. To partially recoup the money spent on medical care, food, medications, supplies, etc. our adoption fee for dogs begins at $150.00 and $50.00 for cats. The rescues who are not adopted live out their lives with Friends In Need Animal Rescue. We do not take in people's pets except in the rarest and most serious circumstances. We are a completely volunteer group trying to make a positive difference in our county by restoring our animal friends to health and giving them love and kindness to enable them to make a difference in the lives of their new families.
