Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program

Our low cost spay neuter program consists of the provision of transportation in a climate controlled vehicle from PetSense in Mt. Airy to the Forsyth Spay Neuter Clinic where pets are spayed or neutered by the clinics licensed veterinarian staff. Cats $555/$60, Dogs under 70 lbs $70. Immunizations, heartworm, and feline leukemia testing are also available. Save on price, not on quality care by professional staff. Carolina Canine Rescue is able to offer this service with reduced prices because, as a nonprofit animal welfare organization, we are able to receive a discount for our clients. We also offer financial assistance as funds allow. Choose to save lives and to make a difference in our pet overpopulation...spay and neuter your pets. Please visit us at www.carolinacaninerescuenc.com for more information. Need fencing? If your dog is chained, and you would like to make him/her part of your family, check out www.dogsdeservebetter.com.

K.I.N.D. News

Help us teach our children about kindness and compassion towards animals and our environment by sponsoring a k-5 classroom. KIND News has been published since 1983 by Humane Society Youth, a division of the Humane Society of the United States. This colorful, 4 page newspaper features articles, puzzles, stories, and fun projects that encourage kindness, compassion, citizenship, and responsible pet care. KIND News has earned numerous awards for editorial and educational excellence. We hope you will help us provide KIND News to one or more Surry County elementary classrooms. Each $25 donation you make will provide one classroom with 28 copies of KIND News every month for 9 months (will roll over into the following school year if subscription are begun after Sept. 1). A teacher's guide plus a mega size calendar poster of fun facts and tips to reinforce lessons in kindness and respect are included each month. To sponsor a classroom or for more information about the Adopt -a-Classroom Program, please contact Carolina Canine Rescue at carolinacaninerescue@gmail.com . Visit www.kindnews.org/about_menu.asp Donations may be made through PayPal on our website at www.carolinacaninerescuenc.com.

Who We Are

Our Mission is to improve the welfare of animals by reducing pet overpopulation, preventing cruelty to animals, and reducing the abandonment and euthanasia of animals through humane education and spay neuter programs. Our group is growing and we welcome everyone to come to our volunteer meetings and make a difference in an animals life.

Dog Obedience

Many times animals end up in shelters or abandoned because of a behavior problem. These problems can often be easily corrected with some simple measures. Learn basic puppy care, obedience training, interpreting your pets behavior, and correcting behavior problems. Classes are available through Angela Schmoll 336-374-5208 (receive a 20% discount on adopted rescue or shelter pets), both in Mt. Airy.

Adopting a friend

Adoption fees for dogs and cats vary depending on each pets required veterinarian care. As we are reimbursed, we can afford to help another unwanted dog or cat. All pets will be spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm/feline leukemia tested and dewormed prior to adoption. Applications are available on our web site at www.carolinacaninerescuenc.com.
