Is SIX-TOES, a five year old black and white domestic shorthaired cat. She is unique in that she has an extra paw on each toe. Please send us an email if you would like to give her a forever home. She will be your purrr-fect Easter bunny!

We are a group of animal lovers. We volunteer our time and energy to help animals in need. Many of the animals in the care of the Vance County Humane Society come to us as strays, and we do everything in our power to assure that they never again suffer the pain of abandonment and loneliness.
OUR GOALS:

PROMOTE SPAYING AND NEUTERING
We spay and neuter all the animals we foster and rescue. We provide financial assistance to those pet owners who can't afford the entire cost of an alteration. We pay for part of the cost of all animals adopted through our local shelter. We offer a shuttle service for individuals who, for one reason or another, do not have the means to transport cats and dogs to the area veterinarians for spaying and neutering. We also arrange for many cats to come to Operation Catnip. Naturally more volunteers are needed in this program.
PREVENT CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
We have a telephone service with on-call members to respond to cruelty and neglect cases. We investigate these reports, warn the owners, and if necessary will remove the animal and file charges against the owner.
FOSTER PROGRAM
Animals are cared for in private homes of Humane Society memebers. And there are never enough foster homes for all the animals that we want to help. Naturally more volunteers and funds are needed in this program as well.
SENIOR PROGRAM
We distribute cat and dog food, as well as cat litter to seniors, disabled or limited income people. The food and litter is donated to us by Iams and Walmart.

Then join us in our continuing campaign to eliminate the "disposable pet mentality" that is so prevalent in our culture. We need to teach adults and children alike, by example, to cherish and respect these unique and wonderful creatures.
