Who We Are
The Blue Ridge Humane Society, established in 1950, is a nonprofit, no kill, animal welfare organization, dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for homeless, injuered, and abused animals awaiting adoption. We are commited to proper animal care and spay/neuter education throughout our community.
Adopting a friend
AARC stands for animal Animal Adoption and Rescue Center. Like the ark of biblical times, it provides shelter and care for animals in need. Adoptable cats are tested for feline leukemia and AIDS. Adoptable dogs are tested for heartworm. All are spayed or neutered, microchipped, given vaccinations and rabies shots.
Come Visit Us!
The AARC is located eight (8) miles east of Interstate 26(Exit 49) on Hwy. 64 East. We are on the right, just past the Justice Acadamy. Please give a call for more specific instructions.
