We Need FOSTER HOMES!! We NEED Loving People!!
BECOME A FOSTER PARENT. IF YOU CAN NOT ADOPT Provide Temporary housing until the adoption is complete. We have become overwhelmed with requests to RESCUE Rotties and need people willing to provide a temporary home until a permanent home is found. The Rescue provides all foster homes with all medical treatments and care; routine flea and heartworm preventive medications; information and support; and backup fostering or boarding for vacations, family emergencies, and other situations if possible while fostering. Please, contact us if you feel you can provide a home for a dog that was not given a chance in the past. If you can not open your home to these great animals we also have Pay Pay and are in desperate need to help us help these dogs. Thank you in Advance for the consideration!
MISSION STATEMENT
If interested in applying to adopt any of NCRR's available companions, please email Diane at ncrottierescue@gmail.com and an application will be sent to you.
North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue requires prospective adoptive families to complete an adoption application. References and home checks are completed along with vet reference checks.
North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue is happy to hear from people interested in giving one of these wonderful dogs a responsible loving forever home. Please remember that Rottweilers become deeply attached to their families. They enjoy sharing every aspect of their family's life. They love being near you at all times and if you feel you may not enjoy having a dog's constant companionship, then you may be happier with a different breed that is less oriented to human companionship.
Our adoption donation of $275 helps pay for costs associated with spaying or neutering, vaccinations and tests, parasite control, and shelter fees. This amount includes a non-refundable application donation of $25 that must be received before your application can be processed. This amount covers the costs incurred by the rescue in processing the application and does not guarantee approval for adoption.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. There are special cases when this may be delayed due to health. All dogs are up to date on vaccines and on heartworm preventive.
Upon entering the rescue, the dogs are tested and treated (if necessary) for intestinal worms. These worms are highly contagious and the dog may contract these worms again at a later date. The rescue will test and treat again while in foster care only if the dog is symptomatic. Adoptive families are encouraged to further test and treat at their expense if their veterinarians recommend it.
Please note: we are volunteers, not professional dog trainers or students of animal behavior. Descriptions are opinions only and are used as a guide to place the dog in the most appropriate home.
After adoption, we are available to assist and advise our adoptive families in any way we can. Obedience training is recommended, and we have two qualified trainers we can refer you to for training classes.
If for any reason your adoption doesn't work out, we require that you return the dog to us.
The adoption donation is NOT refundable should you return the dog, as it will have already been spent caring for the dog you adopt and/or other Rottweilers in need.
Minimum requirements for adopting from North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue are:

Adopting a Companion for Life!
NCRR strongly suggests that before adopting a pet, you research the breed itself, the characteristics, the history of the breed, what medical problems they may or can acquire during their lifetime, and remember: "They are NOT disposable!" Remember that the puppy you think is so cute will grow up and need a lot of training and medical care. Being a responsible pet owner means spaying or neutering your pet, keeping them updated on their shots, vaccines, and heartworm tests, and keeping them on heartworm preventative, as well as making sure your pet is a happy pet. Chaining a dog or caging a dog for their lifetime with no socializing is NOT being responsible. Take the time to train and socialize your pets. Make them an addition to your family.
