Who We Are
Stanly County Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation recognized by the IRS as 501(c)3. All contributions are tax deductible. Our mailing address is PO Box 1632 Albemarle, NC 28001.
We are located only 1 hour from Charlotte and 1 1/2 hours from Greensboro, however, we do not have an actual shelter at this time. We feature both pure and mixed breed dogs that are usually under 20 pounds. Our dogs are fostered in a climate so that we know them well and can place them in the kind of home they need. Our goal is for both the pet and the adoptive family to be very happy with each other.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is usually $150 - $200 for our little lovelies. This includes all vet work, including shots, altering and heartworm test. We start our dogs on basic obedience training including walking on a leash, housebreaking, crate-training and socialization. We reserve the right to be very picky with our dogs as most of them are very small and sometimes fragile. We usually do not place small dogs into home with children under the age of 5, however, we do take the individual circumstances and the individual animal into consideration. An adoption application must be requested and completed before meeting the pets and an adoption contract is required upon approval to adopt.
