Anyone interested in adopting a pet from Recycled Paws is encouraged to give much thought and consideration in making such a big decision. An animal can require a commitmment of 10-15 years, and welcoming any animal into your life is not a choice to be taken lightly. Of course, sharing your life with an animal can be a wonderful experience, especially if the pet is well matched to your lifestyle and you are well prepared for such an addition. It is our mission to find permanent, safe, and loving homes for abandoned or stray companion animals, and we believe it very important to therefore match the right animal with the right family.
INTERESTED IN ADOPTING A PET?
If you are interested in one of our animals, we ask that you e-mail us requesting an application or you may go to the forms on our website recycledpawsanimalrescue.org, complete it and e-mail it back to us. Interested applicants are asked to fill out our adoption application before being considered for adoption.
After being approved, you may speak with us on the phone and set up a time to come visit so that you and your family might interact with your potential new pet. To make certain that we match each pet with the right family, our adoption process is quite thorough. If you are interested in adopting one of our foster pets, be prepared to answer detailed personal questions about your home, family, and any pets you have had in the past. Photos of pets, family, and home are helpful too. You will need to provide several references.
As most of the animals we get come from very difficult circumstances, we want to make sure they are going to "forever" homes. Adoption applications are sent to each person seriously inquiring about a specific animal which begins the adoption process.
If you are approved we will contact you within 72 hours. If you have not heard from us within that time frame please assume the pet has already been adopted or your application was not approved.Most of our animals are spayed or neutered before adoption (if they are of age), as well as being current on all vaccinations and heartworm tested..
Our adoption fees help to cover all of the expenses we incur for health care, food, and the general upkeep of each animal. We strive to exercise extreme care in placing each pet that comes to us. While we always appreciate applications for our pets, we reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. When adopting from Recycled Paws you will be given a guarantee that we will take any animal back if you find it is incompatible with you, your family, home, or lifestyle at anytime in the future.
