Our adoption fee is $250.00. We do require you sign an adoption contract before adopting any of our animals. The terms of the contract are listed below.
On the adoption of this dog from WishingWell Farm Kennel we agree to the following conditions. The dog is to live as a house dog, sleeping inside and sharing our family’s activities. The dog will never be chained or left outside to roam, and when outside will either be inside a secure fence or on a leash. He will never ride loose in the back of a pickup truck where he might fall or jump out and cause injury to himself or others. He will receive proper veterinary care including annual vaccines and heartworm testing. He will receive either daily or monthly heartworm preventative and will be kept free of external parasites through scrupulous grooming and use of appropriate flea and tick control products if necessary. The dog will receive proper nutrition, and through proper feeding and lots of exercise will be kept as close as possible to his ideal weight. He will always have access to fresh, clean water and appropriate chew toys. We recommend the use of a dog crate, especially for periods that you must leave the dog alone during the first few months. He will be anxious and worried about whether or not you will come back, and worried dogs tend to chew, forget their house manners, and generally get into trouble.
The adoption fee of $250.00 is to help offset the dog’s medical expenses while in foster care. He has been fully checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated for DHLP-P, tracheobronchitis, and rabies; has been checked for heartworms, treated if necessary, and is on monthly heartworm preventative; he has been checked and treated for internal and external parasites. He has received elementary obedience and house manners training which must be practiced and used for the life of the dog to protect his mental well being as a member of your family pack. If for any reason you cannot keep the dog for the rest of his natural life, he is to be returned to WishingWell Farm Kennel. If he is returned in good health within 30 days of the date of adoption, your adoption fee will be refunded. After 30 days, the adoption fee is forfeited. Please realize that it takes from six months to a year for a new pet to become fully secure in his new family and especially during this period he will require lots of exercise and supervision.
