Adoption Fair  for CATS and DOGS at Petsmart, April 30th, 10AM to 4PM.  Look for the big yellow bus!!!

The Bowling for Fur fundraiser was great fun and a great success!!!  Thank you to all the community members who came out and participated as well as all the HSI volunteers there to cheer the teams on.

THANK YOU Audra for donating the brand new laptop computer for the Adoption Center.  We have retired the dinosaur computer.  Now we can access information to help the public much faster as well as use it to help promote our wonderful cats and dogs.

The Humane Society of Iredell adopted 376 pets into loving homes last year.

That is over a 30% growth from the year before.  We could not have accomplished this without the generous monetary support and donations from our community  friends as well as the tireless efforts of the wonderful "family" of volunteers.

FOSTERS are still needed.  If you would like to find our more, please visit:

Adopting A Friend

Your first steps in the adoption process are to familiarize yourself with our policies and submit an application.  You can do this by clicking the link below:

Adoption Fairs are held the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Saturdays of each month from 10-4 .  Dogs can be met at the Adoption Center at 110 Robinson Road (next to Big Daddy's).  Cats can be seen at the Adoption Center and at Petsmart (near Target) on Hwy. 150.

Who We Are

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization that operates on private donations and grants applied for by our volunteers. We are NOT supported by state, county, federal or governmental agencies or funds.  We are NOT supported by the Humane Society of the United States.

Our goal is to end animal suffering and pet over population through community education, support, and low-cost spay neuter programs.

We are volunteers, ranging from teens to retirees, with the common goal of helping animals live a better life.

Come Visit Us

The Humane Society of Iredell’s Adoption Center is located at 110 Robinson Road (the corner of Highway 150 and Robinson Road) in Mooresville (near Big Daddy’s).

We are open to the public Monday through Friday from 10-4.  We are staffed by volunteers.  If you can't visit, please leave us a message at 704.663.3330. Our goal is to return your call within 24 hours or less. Please be patient if we don’t respond immediately…our volunteers are always very busy taking care of our animals!

Our dogs reside temporarily in loving Foster Homes as they await adoption. We do not house them at our Adoption Center, but we can happily make an appointment for you to meet your new best friend.

The majority of our cats are at the adoption center on Robinson Road with some rotating to Petsmart and foster homes. Call the Adoption Center if you are interested in visiting a particular cat or kitten to see where they are.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please submit a completed Adoption Application, and one of the volunteer case workers will contact you.
