The center was founded in memory of Dr. Diana Bowman, a beloved Statesville NC area Veterinarian who dedicated her entire life to helping animals. She truly 'walked the talk'. She was a leader in the animal community, working closely with a number of animal welfare groups. Doctor Bowman passed away far to early in life, and it has taken the animal community years to rebound from such a tragic loss.
Who We Are
We are a small growing 501 c3 non-profit organization trying to make a difference in the lives of abandoned animals. We work closely with our local animal control shelter, saving what lives we can, of unfortunate animals who end up there. A large majority of our adoptable pets are shelter rescues!
The mission of the Dr. Diana Bowman Center is to end pet over population and serve as an advocate for companion animals. The Bowman Center is a non profit volunteer organization dedicated to the stewardship of animals through education and advocacy. The Center will strive to end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats by placing emphasis on increasing both adoptions spay and neuter surgeries. Our goal is to have an adoption center and in the future a low cost spay/neuter clinic in Iredell County. The Center will be a voice for the animals.
The economy has had a tremendous impact on many families, losing jobs, homes, and in some causes, their loving pets. More highly adoptable animals are finding themselves entering our local animal shelter, than ever before.
We are always in need of volunteers and caring people to open their hearts and home to a rescued pet!
