Our Featured Pet . . .T-Bird and Norman
Meet Norman and T-Bird, also called T. These boys are purebred Javanese, who no longer have a home. T Bird was shown at cat shows as a kitten, but he did not like participating, so his owner stopped showing him. Norman was bought by the owner as a companion for T Bird after he quit shows, Norman has the same parents as T, but came from the next litter born. Poor little Norman is cross eyes, and has buck teeth. He is extremely shy, and hovers next to T for everything. T grooms Norman, they sleep together, play together, and are inseparable. Both boys love to be brushed, and stroked, and make the BEST lap kitties. They purr loudly, and love to huddle together in a kitty bed and bask in the sun.
Great health, they are 5 years and 5 and 1/2 years old; up to date on all vaccines, FIV negative, neutered, and eat kibble and some soft food. Javanese have a wonderful temperament, are patient, and very laid back. They enjoy playing hide and seek with boxes and paper bags, and love to chase their feather tickler cat toy.
Please consider this Dynamic Duo for a wonderful family addition. They are beautiful, sleek, and carry themselves with a regal walk. THey MUST STAY together. Norman is cross-eyed and depends on T-Bird.. We prefer T-Bird and Norman be adopted together in the greater Wilmington, NC area.

with a person snoring gently nearby.

filled with sounds and smells of family.
For every "Holiday" puppy
given today,
a tolerant, caring owner
who won't abandon you
as you grow into a real dog.
For every ailing pet,
enough money for your owner
to pay the bills to make you well.
For every lost dog,
a clear, safe road, and well marked path,
to lead you home.
For every old and tired friend,
a warm fire, and a soft bed,
to ease your aches and pains.

Who we are
We are a group of local independant rescuers that pull from the local kill shelters located in Pender, New Hanover and surrounding counties.
Adopting a friend
Adopting a friend
To adopt one of our rescues we will need to you to complete an adoption form. Please understand that a home visit and Vet references will be checked. We prefer local adoptions but will consider others according to the circumstances. Also understand we are very protective of our rescues because of their previous abuse, and we are all that is standing between them and more bad circumstances. All our dogs will be neutered/spayed before being adopted.
Animals are fully vetted and ready for their forever homes.
Cape Fear Rescue Rangers is privately funded and your donation allows us to continue providing veterinary medical and other care for more rescued animals. In most instances, we have already provided that care for the animal(s) you are applying for and we relinquish any vet records at the time of adoption. We are grateful for your support of our efforts. Donations of pet foods and supplies, and to our veterinary care fund at Forest Hills Veterinary Hospital, Wilmington, are always appreciated.
Typical Costs incurred to vet the dogs we take in:
Services covered Usual and Customary Charges
Medical evaluation from a veterinarian $35 - $50
Puppy Vaccinations $47 - $55 for each series
DHPP $20 - $25
DHLPP $22 - $28
Bordatella (Kennel Cough) $20 - $25
*Heartworm test $30 - $40
Fecal test $20 - $25
Dewormer $17 - $30
Microchipping $50 - $65
Spay/Neuter (incl. blood tests & pain mgmt.) $165 - $210, depending on weight
Rabies $17 - $25
Flea and Tick preventive (i.e., Advantage) $15
Health Certificate $25 - $35
PLEASE NOTE; We do NOT have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in private homes.
