The Forsyth Humane Society, established in 1941, is a private not-for-profit 501 ( C ) 3 organization and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the county. We are committed to preventing pet overpopulation by promoting responsible pet ownership and providing for the welfare of homeless dogs and cats.
We depend solely on private donations to fund our efforts. We receive no financial support from United Way, national humane organizations, or government at any level. Individuals and businesses support our work by making financial and in-kind donations.

Adopting a friend
We have lots of adult dogs and cats, as well as kittens and puppies available for adoption. The objective of our adoption program is to find appropriate homes for each and every animal. An appropriate home is one in which the prospective adopter is willing and able to provide for the needs of the animal. These needs include proper nutrition, shelter, grooming, exercise, training, veterinary care, and lots of attention and affection.
Every animal is an individual and individualized attention to placement in a new home is critical to a successful adoption.
