Beautiful Himalayan with blue eyes. Sweet, shy, but friendly.
Who We Are
Based in Taylorsville, North Carolina, the AAAL is the only animal rescue organization serving Alexander County. AAAL is staffed entirely by volunteers and runs financially by donations and funds aquired through pet adoptions. Animals accepted into the program are lovingly cared for by volunteers in their homes as we no longer have shelter facilities available. AAAL actively supports spay / neuter programs, responsible pet ownership and an appropriate no kill policy.
AAAL is in NO way affiliated with Alexander County Animal Control.
How to arrange an adoption...
AAAL has various animals available for adoption at PetSmart in Hickory, NC on the following days and times:
Saturdays 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Every other Sunday 11:00am to 4:00pm
Adoption of any of the animals listed on our web site can be made by calling (828) 635-0770. If no one is available to take your call, please leave a message and one of our representatives will contact you.
The adoption donation for a AAAL animal is $75.00. This rate includes spay / neuter, current shots (based on animal age), and information to obtain two months free health insurance from petfinder.com.
AAAL does not guarantee the health of adopted animals or reimburse veterinary bills incurred after adoption. We recommend that you have your pet examined by a veterinarian within 10 days of adoption. We also recommend that you do not place a newly adopted pet with pets currently residing in your home before such time.
All Adoption Donations are non-refundable.
If your new pet does not adjust to its surroundings or is in some way incompatible with your lifestyle the animal may be exchanged for another animal in the program within 30 days. If after 30 days a situation arises which would require you to give up the animal, we ask that you contact AAAL for return of the animal into our adoption program.
If you have adopted an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you must call AAAL at 635-0770 by a designated date to schedule an appointment. The cost for the spay/neuter is included in your adoption donation. However, if the appointment is not scheduled by the date indicated on the adoption form, the adopter may incur a fee.
