Welcome to Johnston County Animal Services. We are happy you are interested in our services.
We are a department of Johnston County Government, and we are located in Smithfield, North Carolina at 115 Shelter Way. Our hours are 8-5 M-F. We are open the second Saturday of every month, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for adoptions only.
Adopting a friend
Animals can be adopted between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday.
We are willing to allow out-of-state adoptions; as long as the animal is picked up at the shelter. We will not ship animals.
Adoption fees are $65.00, which includes a $50.00 deposit for spaying/neutering of dogs and cats. The $50.00 will be refunded once that's done.
All adopters must complete the Adoption Contract. This contract is available from our web site at http://www.johnstonnc.com/animals/
Discount spay and neutering services are available to pet owners through SNAP and Carolina Mobile. Information about these services can be obtained directly from the Pet Adoption Center.
