Spay/Neuter is the most effective way to HELP REDUCE THE UNWANTED PET POPULATION !!

Litters are for Losers: HAVE YOUR ANIMAL SPAYED OR NEUTERED!

We are ALWAYS in need of temporary foster homes. It's a great, short-term way to help an animal in need. PLEASE call (704) 718-4673 and leave us a message!


NEW affordable spay/neuter assistance. algc has two reduced cost spay/neuter programs. One (called Humane Alliance) is open to EVERYONE and the other is income-based.

With the Humane Alliance spay/neuter program, pets are transported (by an experienced transport specialist! ) to Asheville, NC where the surgeries are performed. The pets stay overnight and return to Gastonia the next day. Prices - Male cat: $40, Female Cat:$55, Male/Female Dog: $55.. Proof of a current rabies vaccination required (bring to registration) or the shot will be given at the clinic for $7. Cash payment ONLY at registration. Other vaccinations and blood tests are available. Please note that the vaccines and blood test are only available at the clinic with a spay/neuter surgery. ADOPTION EVENTS: algc volunteers will be on hand the first Saturday of each month from 10:00am-2:00pm at Gaston County Animal Control in Dallas to answer questions and to assist you in adopting the ideal pet for you! For more info call algc at 704-718-4673.

algc also has adoption events at PetSmart located at Franklin Square in Gastonia, NC on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11-2pm. More adoption events could be scheduled during summer months so please check the algc website often!

Can't adopt or foster??  We are ALWAYS in need of Volunteers. Just one event once a year would make a world of difference to an animal in need. PLEASE call (704) 718-4673 and leave us a message or email us at info@algc.us.

ALGC volunteers will be on hand Saturday the 1st of each month from 10am to 2pm at Gaston County Animal Control in Dallas, NC to help you answer questions and to assist you in adopting the perfect pet. Our animals are all in foster homes, we do not have a central shelter at this time. We have adoption days in Gastonia . See the "News" section above for dates and times.
