3R Rescues Update: May, 14, 2008
Please come out to our Adoption Event and Fundraising Bake and Craft Sale Saturday, May. 31! Visit with some of our foster animals, drop off an application, and/or pick up some superyummylicious goodies at our bake sale. Hey vegans, there will be plenty of sweet treats for you, too! So, come by and see us and say hi to a few little fuzzies! Pick up some desserts to take home while you're at it! We'll be there from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at AniMall in Morrisville. Thank you, everyone who helped make our World Rat Day Celebration a success. Emily handled advertising, drawing a larger crowd than we'd expected! Dominique made the most incredibly lucious vegan chocolate cake adorned with a much-larger-than-life rendering of a hooded rat. Kay and Telena both brought their wonderful rat ambassadors and educated the public on proper care and handling of these animals.
There were detailed displays on many topics, including an example of the ideal habitat for these rodents, from the suspended fluffy hammocks to the custom made floor liner to protect tiny, delicate feet.
Teresa and Lauren contributed to fund raising, with craft and bake sales. Melissa helped with photographing the event as well as donating some beautiful handmade rat pendants from her online boutique:
