Who We Are
The Pender County Humane Society is a volunteer based non-profit, "no-kill" animal rescue organization funded by donations, memberships, and fees.
Adopting a friend
Adoption fees for dogs are $125 (purebred dogs are $150) and $75 for cats. This includes deworming, flea and tick control, vaccinations, heartworm test and treatment (dogs only) and Felv/FIV test (cats only), and spay/neuter. The adoption process requires an application to be filled out and reviewed/approved by a board member. With the application approved, a vet check will be done.

Take I-40 West to exit 398.Left off of exit, until first traffic light. Left at traffic light, 1 mile ahead on right next to Burnett's Animal Hospital.
From Raliegh:
Take I-40 East to exit 398.Left off of exit, until first traffic light. Left at traffic light, 1 mile ahead on right next to Burnett's Animal Hospital.
From Jacksonville:
Take 53 West to intersection of 53 west/ Hwy. 117. Left at traffic light, 1 mile ahead on right next to Burnett's Animal Hospital.
Our shelter hours are Mon.-Fri.-8am-12pm,4pm-7pm
Sat., Sun.-9am-5pm.
