Who We Are

Swiftdogz Canine Services is a rescue, pet education, therapy and training program, and canine support program which believes in the idea of spaying and neutering. We are a small group which strives to maintain quality over quantity. Let me tell you a little about our training/education program. The Canines Can Change Program which rescues unwanted or abused dogs of all breeds, and then integrates them into facilities such as exceptional classrooms(EC/BED) in schools and correctional facilities where each dog receives a seven-week training course. In this program, participants will be assigned a dog, which is most compatible with their personality. Due to the variance in each of the dogs we use, we strive to match the dogs’ and participants’ personalities to the best of our abilities to insure success. Participants will then attend this seven week course, which will teach him or her how to train their dog in Basic Obedience directly relating to The American Kennel Club’s (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC). At the end of the course, each participant will take the CGC test. A set of guidelines has already been established through AKC and certificates will be handed-out for those that receive passing scores. After completion of the program, the dogs, which participated in the class, will be adopted to approved families. We transport the dogs once a week to the facility, and the participants will then prepare their assigned dog for the class. The classes will last about one hour, although the times may be altered in necessary. All of these services are free to the participants, but donations from the public and support from animal supply companies are always greatly appreciated. Each dog will be evaluated for temperament as well as provided necessary medical care before it enters the program to insure complete safety. CCC cannot accept and liabilities for accidents causing injury and a release form must be signed as well as a personality profile form. Each participant must be willing to learn and NEVER cause harm to any of the animals participating. This program allows everyone to participate, with no discrimination against color, sex , race, or disability. The therapy dog program entails certified therapy dogs and their volunteers. Members join together to participate in the month's scheduled visitations, and each dog which is enrolled must pass both the CGC and TDI tests. Adopting a friend

To adopt one of our dogs, either from the program or within our rescue organization, several steps must be taken before you are able to take you new friend home. First, a phone conversation must be made to get to know more about your situation, as well as you getting to know more about mine and the dogs'. Then an application must be filled out. A home check may be made, when possible. We DO check references, and a contractual agreement is made upon the adoption of any dog within our program. An adoption fee applies depending on what the particular dog has been provided. Relinquishng a dog to the program or rescue: A dog must have all vaccinations up to date, or the relinquisher must be willing to make a donation to absorb some of those costs. An evaluation must be done before any promises are made as to the acceptance of fostering ANY dog and this can be done by calling the contact numbers of the president of the Canines Can Change Program!
