Person County Animal Shelter is now offering Rabies Vaccinations to the public.  One year Rabies Vaccinations are $8 per dog/cat.

Adopting A Friend

Adoption Fee is $100 (cash or check only) $25 is the adoption fee and $75 is a spay/neuter deposit  which is refunded after you show proof of spay/neuter. We have also partnered with Woodsdale Animal Hospital and Roxboro Animal Hospital to be able to offer a $75 voucher for spaying/neutering.

Individual must be 18 years old or older to adopt.

All animals placed in adoption have received age appropriate vaccinations and deworming.

Who We Are

Person County Animal Control and Animal Shelter is operated by Person County Government. 

We receive animals that are surrendered by owners, strays, animal cruelty cases, animal bite cases, etc.

We operate under North Carolina State Laws and Local Government Ordinance. 

Come Visit Us

Our adoption hours are Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday and  Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Closed on Holidays and Holiday weekends.
