	We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here. These beds are SUPER to use in the shelter because they give the animal a place to rest that is not on a cold, hard, concrete floor.

Kennel Revitalization

The animals at the shelter are currently kept in out-of-date metal cages that are rusting and coming apart. Our current focus is on replacing the indoor runs as funds become available. The new stainless steel cages provide complete isolation between animals, while still allowing fresh air and light to circulate. The cages are manufactured by Mason Company, and are made of stainless steel doors and specially made plastic separators between kennel runs. A fresh coat of paint is being applied to the cement walls and ceiling, the floors are being sealed with epoxy sealant, and the kennel walls are being painted with high-endurance paint. These improvements make the kennels much brighter, easier to clean, and more sanitary for the animals. In order to continue our work, we are asking that donations be made to Animal Trustees of Alleghany Inc.. (Donations are tax deductible.) UPDATE: We have completed 7 kennels so far and have raised enough funds to order two more at a cost of $1800, which will be a total of nine new kennels out of 17 that need to be replaced. The two new kennels should be installed by the middle of May. We have run out of funds to complete any more kennels. Donations are urgently needed to continue this ongoing project.
