If you are looking for your lost pet we STRONGLY suggest that you visit the shelter rather than just call, because only you can truly recognize your animal.

All strays picked up or turned in, are held for 3 business days giving the owner a chance to come and reclaim their pet.
All pets are adopted on a first come, first served basis. Adoption fees are $80 for dogs and $65 for cats, this includes having the pet spayed or neutered.

All adoptable animals are given a rabies vaccine per NC state law, additionally, all adoptable dogs are given a DA2PPV, wormed and microchipped.

All adoptable cats are given Fel-O-Vax IV with calicivirus and wormed.

***********PLEASE NOTE: ***********

You need to know that if you bring an animal to the shelter you can no longer care for or if you find a stray, it may be evaluated for possible adoption.

To be a candidate for adoption, the animal has to be friendly, in good health, and have a good temperment. The number of animals held for adoption sometimes depends on kennel space availability.

Please call the shelter directly for more details.

Please note that some animals, brought to the shelter are strays that no one has claimed. Within the 3 days they are here, we may determine if the dog or cat could possibly be adoptable based on health & attitude. If within that three days we find the animal suitable for adoption, we will give it a rabies vaccination. This holding period also gives us a chance to get to know the pet better!

Please feel free to call the shelter at (704) 878-5424 if you might have any further questions.
