Thanks so much!
During our adoption process for adoptable animals, we make it our number one priority to place pets in an appropriate, loving, permanent home, where their personality and character traits will match that of the new family.
All pets are spayed/neutered, tested for heart worms and put on prevention, given complete vet care (differs among animals) and vaccinated. Also any other medical attention that may be necessary.
We are always here for our rescues for their life time, no exceptions.
If you've adopted from us and need us to board your pet, groom him or her, or need assistance with anything, we are just a phone call or email away!
We provide boarding to adopted pets and their furry family members as well as offer professional grooming. All donations given for boarding and grooming goes 100% directly to caring for the rescues!

Our Adoptable Pets
"It takes a minute to find a special friend, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, and an entire lifetime to forget them. "
We operate strictly by email only until there is an adoption application submitted as we are a privately operated rescue that houses our animals in private foster homes only.
(Filling out an application does not obligate you to adopt).
General needs for all of our rescues
We are in need of premium food, treats, toys, and as always, funding. We can't help the animals without donations, please help!
If you'd rather sponsor, or foster one of our rescued pets, please contact us about the animal that you choose.
We do not expect you to be perfect but we do have guidelines we follow to help place our rescue pets in the homes we feel are likely to be lifelong, loving and safe.
All prospective families must fill out an adoption application which can be obtained by emailing us at:
RoheAnimalRescue@aol.com
This helps us get to know you and your family and what type of pet would be a good possible match for you.
What does our application ask and why?
References and a home study are required for all adoptions. This is for the safety of our rescues so that they are placed in loving forever homes.
What is our home study about?
We're not judging you. We just want to make sure that you have a home and family that is compatible for the animal you are interested in adopting. Home studies are also a time for us to get to know your family, answer any questions you might have, and help you decide if the pet you are interested in is a great match for you.
There is also an adoption donation to partially off set veterinary expenses, and an adoption contract to sign.
What does our fee help to cover?
Fees we paid to rescue a dog, cat or other type of critter from a shelter
Spaying/Neutering
Getting the pet up to date on shots and testing
Getting the pet started on heartworm preventative
Microchipping
Various other expenditures (differs among animals)
Our adoption fees do not even cover the amount of money we've spent to prepare a pet for adoption while in our program. What is our contract about?
We want to be certain that your newly adopted pet will be cared for throughout it's entire life. If for any reason the animal needs something you are unable to provide or is in danger, the pet is to come back to us and we ask that you agree to this. There is also a thorough form filled out by us with all medical procedures, shots, notes on behavior, and anything else you will need to know about your new family member included in your contract.
Before applying to meet and possibly adopt one of our rescues, please read:
Are your current pets up to date on their routine medical care?
Routine exams and preventative medicine is the key to a long and happy, healthy life for your pet.
Are your current pets taking heartworm preventative?
Heart worms are a deadly and costly disease. Even if your pet is an indoor pet, anywhere and at any time of year when there are mosquitoes the possibility of heart worms exists.
Have you ever surrendered a pet that you owned to a shelter?
It is important that our dogs and cats are placed in homes that they can think of as their "forever families." Some of our dogs and cats have seen various homes and situations and all they want, need, and deserve is unconditional, lifelong love.
Do you have the time and finances for a pet? The average cost per pet ranges in the hundreds per year. This is for food, medical costs, and not to mention any emergencies that might arise. Do you have time to walk your dog, spend quality time every day with your dog, no matter your schedule?
~ Ask yourself first, can you provide this?
Are your current pets spayed or neutered?
Please check out this web sight for further information:
http://www.1-800-save-a-pet.com/public/spay_and_neuter/index.html
Why Spay or Neuter?
If you think that just having one or two litters won't hurt anybody, this fact should change your mind: according to the Humane Society of the United States, 10,000 babies are born in the U.S. on any given day. On that same day, however, 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. Match those two statistics up, and you'll see that there will never be enough homes for all the animals born in this country unless we all take responsibility for spaying and neutering our pets. Change begins with YOU! Spay or neuter your pet!
Spayed/neutered pets live longer, healthier lives
Spaying your female pet greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer and completely eliminates the threat of uterine and ovarian cancer.
Neutering your male pet prevents testicular cancer and prostate problems, and helps him avoid serious health problems like hernias and perianal tumors.
Males neutered at a young age are far less likely to develop dominance or aggression-related behavior problems, including possession and food guarding, territory marking (lifting his leg on everything in sight), aggression toward other dogs, and "humping" inappropriate objects.
Neutering your male pet relieves him of the constant urge to go out in search of a female in heat. Ridding him of his urge to roam could very well save his life, and save you from a terrible broken heart.
Spaying your dog or cat eliminates her heat cycle and the mess that goes with it. Also, females in heat often cry and howl incessantly, develop nervous behavior, and attract every unaltered male dog in the neighborhood to your yard!
Altered animals are generally more docile and easier to train.
In the span of seven years, an unspayed cat and her offspring can produce 370,000 kittens!
In the span of six years, an unspayed dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies!
If once you've adopted your new pet from us and find that it's just not working out... What do you do?
While some things may seem like a big deal, don't forget there is an adjustment period. Dogs and cats usually take a while to really relax and be themselves. They may be nervous and frightened. Be firm and correct bad habits in a controlled manner. Be patient and use us for a sounding board to vent your frustrations and get tips on how to correct behavior. Why not pick up a book (The Second Hand Pet is a great book to help you) to help you through trouble spots, or contact us for some advice specific to your situation?
Feel free to click here and search the library for help as well:
If all else fails with your adoption, we'll work with your situation as necessary in the best interest of the animal. If you have a problem with a pet you've adopted through us we want you to turn to us, not a shelter or another rescue group with this pet. If the animal turns out not a compatible pet/compainion for you and or your family, we require you return the animal to us to be placed in a new forever home (as agreed in the adoption contract).
Need advice?
Do you need simple advice? We can help you with training, nutrition, bonding, etc. with your pet/s. Please feel free to contact us if you are seeking advice about your animal's behavior, health, etc.. We LOVE to help animals and their people!
