The Guilford County Animal Shelter has the largest selection of adoptable animals under one roof in the Triad, in fact we are one of the largest shelters on the East Coast. Each day there are over 150 dogs and 80 cats waiting to be adopted in the public adoption area. New pets become available daily as others are adopted.
Adoption fees are $95 for dogs/puppies and $80 for cats/kittens----includes spay/neuter by shelter vets, basic vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test for dogs and feline leukemia test for cats and a microchip. Some pets have been sponsored which reduces the adoption fee.
Several cats from the shelter are also on display at Petsmart---Lawndale and are ready to be adopted.
Adoption fairs for dogs are held every Saturday from 11:30 to 4:00 at Petsmart--Bridford and on Sunday at Petsmart--Lawndale from 1:00 to 4:00. The shelter is open Monday thru Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00. We would love to help you find your next best friend so please visit us soon!
