Who We Are

Founded in 1998, Help for Homeless Pets is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit Organization with two main goals:
  • To find permanent homes for homeless animals in the Billings area.
  • To promote spaying and neutering, thereby reducing the tragic consequences of pet overpopulation
HHP does not euthanize animals. Instead, we provide shelter in our kennel, or in a foster home, until a permanent home for them can be found.

We can house 100 cats and kittens and 40 dogs and puppies and we are open every day.

Adopt a Pet
We have a wide variety of  adoptable cats and kittens.  Now that kitten season is upon us, we have many adorable kittens from which to choose.  Additionally, we have several dogs and pups that can't wait to get into a nice home.   Please visit our Available Pets for a listing of all of our pets in need of a new forever home.

News
We are now capable of taking Visa, Mastercard, and American Express for adoptions, deposits, or to simply make a donations or to sponsor a pet. It is tax deductible when making donations or sponsoring a pet.

We are in need of good, clean, responsible, Foster Homes for some pregnant cats & dogs that come in to us.

We could also use help with exercising and training the dogs. If a nice Girlscout or 4-H group would volunteer to help the dogs, it would be greatly appreciated.  As the dogs would be more 'adoptable'.

Call (406) 896-1700, if you can help with fostering or training.

Acceptable Drop-Offs
Sorry we cannot accept drop-offs.  All pets must be scheduled, or pre-approved, for the safety of other pets in our care.  We must also have kennel, or temporary care, space available. We must have some information of the pets we accept.   And, if the pet was found we must know that every effort was made to find the owner, and yet has not been claimed.  All drop offs will be considered strays and will have to be taken to the Billings Animal Shelter.

Directions to Our Kennel

From Interstate 90: Take the So. 27th St. exit #450 or the Hospital exit, towards downtown Billings. At the stop light, turn left onto State Ave. Drive about a block and then turn left onto Sugar Ave. Now follow the directions below:

From within Billings: Go South on Sugar Ave. about 4 blocks and then turn right on Hannon Road, immediately after the big red sign for Montana Masonry.  There is also a sign for "Field of Dreams Tree Farm" and our sign.  Go about 1/2 block on Hannon Rd. and you will see our kennel on the left.  It's a gray steel building with red trim and our sign on the front.  Some parking in the front, and more parking in the back of the building. Now that we've remodeled, you must ENTER IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING, not the back.
