Flathead Spay Neuter Task Force
Our Adoptable Pet List
Our Featured Pet...
Is actually a "family" of cats that we rescued in March when the people moved out of their home and left 34 cats behind. The majority of the cats are tame and very socialized. They're a beautiful group of both long and short haired. All have been altered and are current on vaccines.
News
In February 2006 ,we celebrated our four year anniversary in our permanentt facility! In 2005 we provided our community with 2142 surgeries! Our goal is 2000 per year and every year we get a little bit closer. In addition, we have found new homes for approximately 110 cats.
Who We Are
The Flathead Spay & Neuter Task Force is the only low-cost spay and neuter clinic in the state of Montana. We are a non-profit group that have provided low-income pet owners and feral cat caretakers with an opportunity to have their dogs and cats altered at a greatly reduced price. Working with area veterinarians, we provide approximately 2000 surgeries at our spay and neuter clinic. The clinic has four surgery tables, and separate dog and cat wings. All aspects of the clinic are handled by caring volunteers. In addition, we have a 500 square foot cat adoption center that allows us to house large family groups in individual rooms. The cat center currently houses approximately 25 cats in three large rooms with an outside enclosed run. The Task Force operates cat clinics every two weeks and large dog/cat clinics every month as needed. Donations are always greatly appreciated.
Adopting a friend
At this time we have primarly cats up for adoption, but our foster homes will occasionally have dogs/puppies also. Because of the number of cats that we have for adoption, we can only post a sample of the total cats in our care. In addition to pet cats, we have a number of "barn cats" that are also up for adoption. Prospective adopters will need to complete an "Adoption Appication" to be considered. There is a $25 per cat adoption fee which includes the spay or neuter, rabies and leukemia combo (or distemper only in young kittens) vaccines. If the pet does not work out for any reason, it is to be returned the Task Force.
