Miss Kitty Girl is a friendly, grey tortoiseshell spayed female. She would be happiest as an indoor cat. She would love to be someone’s lap sitting companion. She would probably prefer to be the queen of her home and be the only kitty on the premises, but is willing to share if necessary.

This pet is up to date with routine shots.

Champ is a very cute, smart, trainable yellow lab/shepherd/Staffordshire terrier pup who is ready to learn. He is tan and white, about 10 months old and a neutered male. He is not very big, and could be a good addition to a household with his short fur. He is a mix of several breeds, a mutt type dog who could be taught all kinds of tricks. He is good with kids, cats and other dogs.

We need Volunteers! Can you help? We need help feeding and cleaning the animal areas, socializing the animals(playing with the cats and walking the dogs), answering the phone, cleaning the reception area, office work, and almost anything you could do we would appreciate.

Did You Know?

In 2007 we facilitated the spay or neuter of 450 pets in the Libby and Troy area and in 2008 our total was 479. The first ten months of 2009 we have spayed or neutered 339. pets. Please go to your own veterinarian but if you can’t we can help you.

Since the end of 2005 we have taken in, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on meds, and adopted out 1462 animals!

We Moved Into Our New Shelter in August!

We still have finishing work to do but we have the cat and dog areas ready enough to receive the animals and we are doing finishing touches every day.

Everyone Welcome

Every day we have volunteers either working at the shelter with the animals or working in the background to provide funding for every animal and supply needed at the shelter. Becoming a member does not obligate anyone to volunteer his/her time. You can be an active or a silent member - the choiceis yours!

We have tax exempt status, which means contributions made to KPFL are deductible as charitable contributionson your federal and state income tax returns (subject to rules and limitations the IRS puts on contributions.)

Who We Are

Kootenai Pets for Life is a non-profit volunteer organization providing shelter and care for the stray and abandoned pets of the Libby/Troy area and offering foster care, veterinary assistance, and education. We promote spaying and neutering of pets and can assist people in keeping their pets by providing help with their Spay/Neuters if they are unable to manage them theirselves.
