"To alleviate needless, inhumane suffering of animals and to bring to our region a higher level of compassion for the creatures who share our planet with us but who otherwise have no voice."
Who We Are
It is all about the animals, people! We here at the Rimrock Humane Society like to think outside the "box". We are blessed that our concept of maintaining a "virtual" shelter works so successfully! But how could it not? All of our animals live in the care of loving foster homes and NOT in a cage or kennel. Their lives, while they wait for a new forever family, are stress free and healthy. When potential adopters want to meet an animal, they do so in the comfort of a loving home observing that animal in a relaxed environment (getting a good "read" on the true nature of the pet). It is a win/win situation in which the animals, our adopters and our donors appreciate!
Although the RHS may not have an actual facility, we still have technological advances such as computerized record-keeping and microchip pet identification that enhances the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our already low end operations budget. The Society operates as an independent not-for-profit organization supported by individual and corporate donations. The RHS does not receive government funding.
"For those who have no home, the journey is endless."
Adopting a friend
We here at the Rimrock Humane Society take the placement of our animals very seriously. All homes are screened and visited, references are checked and applications weeded through with a fine tooth comb. New adoptive homes for dogs will have to have a fenced in yard or some form of restraint so the dogs are safe at home. Cats must be indoor pets only and not allowed to run loose. If you feel you meet these qualifications, then please proceed to the next step!
Printable Adoption Forms are available. Please print these, fill them out and Fax them to the shelter at (406) 323-1863. You may also copy, paste and return them by e-mail
