If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. -Will Rogers
We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all.
It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Acklam
Hours of Operation
1:30 to 5:30 Tuesday - Saturday
We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
You would not believe what is happening at the LCHS. The Telecom Pioneers have built roofs over all the outside pens. They added 7 large pens, making more room for large dogs. Sharon Stone and Becky Shaw, Telecom Pioneers, added us to the Petfinder web page and our adoption success has soared. Newsletters are being sent out. We have a new director, MS Martha Lavere, and she is devoted and determined to continue updating the facilities. Check back next week for more news on our continuing success.
NEWS UPDATE #2
The Telecom Pioneers were at the shelter again today and built a roof over the last 3 pens. We also installed a commercial size stainless steel sink with 3 huge sinks. How wonderful it will be to be able to wash puppies and not have to lean over the tub! Then we installed shelves over the tub and over the washer and dryer. If that were not enough we installed a new attic door/stair. I did not think that we could top was had already been done, but somehow it happened! This roof changed the look of the entire place!
Volunteers are desperately needed to help clean and to walk and socialize the dogs. They really do love to get out and walk and it helps them stay healthy, too. They are happy to let you know how much they appreciate the attention! And it is good exercise for us. So, give Martha a call at the shelter Tuesday through Saturday 1:30p-5:30p and she will be happy to sign you up.
