Adopting A Friend

HSSM employs an open adoption process.

You can view and visit with HSSM's adoptables any time during business hours (10am-6pm Mon-Sat).

HSSM will have Adoption Counselors on hand to assist you in making a good match for your family.

If you have other pets at home, you are encouraged to bring them for a meet & greet to ensure a good fit.

Once you have chosen your perfect new pet, you will need a photo ID to complete the adoption paperwork.

The mission of the Humane Society of South Mississippi is to advocate the bond between animals and humans, provide the highest quality services and compassion to the animals entrusted to our care, reduce companion animal overpopulation, and increase the save-rate of animals in our community.

Come Visit Us

The Humane Society of South Mississippi is housed in a 40,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility.

We are located on Hwy 49 in downtown Gulfport, just north of Pass Road.

Our operating hours are 10am-6pm Mon-Sat. Adoptable pets can be viewed during these hours and HSSM will have Adoption Counselors on hand to assist you in making a good match for your family.
