You may view any of these dogs here on our website and we have also attached a picture collage of them.
If you would like to adopt, sponsor, or foster any of these urgent dogs PLEASE let us know! info@tupelo-leehumane.org or call (662) 841-6500
***Our adoption fee is $60. The adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, 1st shot and deworming. Rabies shots will be the responsibility of the new adopter.
***Fostering is basically taking the dog into your home for a few weeks and loving them like they were your own. We normally do this for dogs that< have been at our shelter for a while and need some room to run and fresh air, this also helps give them more time to be adopted. A home check will be done before releasing to foster and you must fill out the foster form.
**In the event that someone can not adopt or foster but wants to help a particular dog we have a sponsorship program in which a person will donate $60 per month to go towards the dogs feeding and medical care.
Thank you for all of your support and passing this information along to anyone you think may be interested!

Lawndale Elementary Support
This is a picture of the Lawndale Elementary class that sold feathers as a way to raise money. They chose us to donate it to us! They raised $500.00 and we will recognize their dedication to help the animals by placing a plaque on one of the new puppy cages. Michelle Webb's (our kennel master) daughter Monique suggested the animal shelter as a charity to receive their money.
We are so proud to have been chosen and we really appreciate the donation. We are lucky to have so many young supporters!

Who We Are:
The Tupelo-Lee Humane Society was founded in December of 1979. This group of individuals wanted to bring more attention to companion animal overpopulation and replace the local "pound" with a true animal shelter. Both goals were accomplished. Today the society has approximately 500 individual, family, and corporate members. The animal shelter is located at 2400 S. Gloster St. in what was formerly a veterinarian's clinic.
TLHS currently contracts with and receives funding from the city of Tupelo to provide animal control (dog catcher) services for Tupelo. TLHS also receives funding from Lee County to take in stray animals that are brought to us by citizens from unincorporated areas of the county. There are no leash laws in the county, so we do not provide active animal control there. The Society also relies on funding from membership dues, donations, and fundraisers.
Adopting a friend:
About Adoptions Through the TLHS:
How much do animals cost?:
Adoptions are reasonably priced at $60 for ANY animal, puppies, kittens, adult dogs and adult cats! The adoption fee includes a spay/neuter but 1st shot and de-worming, and rabies shots will be the responsibility of the new adopter.
What are your adoption criteria?:
We generally prefer that persons adopting animals be 21 years of age. However, persons 18-20 may adopt animals if they live on their own. We require that adoptive families not be restricted from owning pets by any rental agreements and that they have adequate facilities for the type animal they are adopting. Lap dogs, or cats that have been declawed, may need to stay inside. Big, active dogs may need to be outside in a large yard. Beyond that, the individual must sign an adoption statement promising to meet the animal's basic physical needs, that the animal is for themselves and not a third party, and that they will not sell the dogs to an animal research facility.
