We need ADULT volunteers!! If you would like to help us take care of our pets and building in any way, please come by and fill out a volunteer form. We are always in need of volunteers to help clean, socialize dogs and cats, bathe and groom pets and help with adoption days. We are also looking for foster homes, we need help in housetraining and basic obedience. This makes the dogs much more adoptable and helps them find homes much quicker. You must have verifyable vet referances, and willing to open your home to a dog or cat in need. We cover any medical expenses for the dog, and can supply food if needed. Who We Are
We are a non -profit group of volunteers dedicated to help homeless animals in Desoto County. We are a 501C group which allows your donations to be tax deductable. We spay and neuter all of the dogs and cats that come through our group before they leave us for new homes. We also are involved in community outreach to help educate the community on the importance of vaccinating, spaying and neutering their pets. Our facility has been named the Animal Haven, we wanted a name that would reflect a safe harbor for the animals that we were saving from death row shelters as well as a welcoming name for visitors to feel comfortable coming to view the animals. The public can feel comfortable knowing that this is not a depressing shelter but a happy temporary home for these pets until a new permanent family can be found for them.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $100.00 for dogs and $25.00 for cats. This includes the spay/neuter which will be done before any animal leaves us. It also includes the heartworm test(dogs), Feline Leuk /FIV/ HW test(cats), rabies (if over 3 months), and 7in1 (dogs), bordatella(dogs) 4in1 (cats), also they have been wormed, and treated for fleas if needed. We are now microchipping all adopted animals and that is included in your adoption fee. You can see that the adoption fee is not very high when you start comparing what all the medical costs would be at the vets.
