Rescue One holds adoption events twice a month in Springfield, MO. We are at Pet Warehouse on Battlefield Road on the 1st Saturday of the month from 10am-3pm. This event is held with Halfway Home Rescue.
We are at Pet Warehouse on Sunshine Street from 10am-3pm on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Adopting A Friend
All of our furry friends at Rescue One have different needs. We do not however adopt to outdoor only homes unless indicated on the animals listing. We list as much possible information with each animal when we put them on the site, but we learn new things about them every day. So, please feel free to email or call and ask questions. We do require a brief informal telephone interview to make sure it is a good match. From there we do meet and greets with family members on two legs and four legs to make sure everyone gets along. Animals are allowed to go home on a trial basis (if close enough). We do know it is difficult to get married on a first date! Transport is available throughout the country, but at an additional cost. The transport fee depends on which transport we use and how much they charge. When all is ready to be finalized we have and adoption contract that will need filled out. Adoption fees are different on the animals depending on how much needs to be done before they can go to their forever home.
Who We Are
Rescue One is a foster based rescue located in Springfield, MO. All of the animals in our care live in foster homes until a forever home can be found. We work under Halfway Home Rescue out of Collins, MO to save the lives of animals who have landed in Springfield Animal Control, aka "The Pound." We do not take animals from the general public so we can rescue those on death row.
Rescue One was founded in 2010 by two former Hospice nurses who saw a growing trend of homeless dogs in Springfield and decided to try and help. They are a small group, but have saved over a hundred lives in just a year. They are hoping to continue to grow and add more foster homes so they can save more lives.
Come Visit Us
We are available on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at the two Pet Warehouse locations listed under the "News" section.
