GREAT ANIMALS NEED GREAT HOMES!

KITTENS, KITTENS, KITTENS. Tom and Toni rescued some feral kittens, and have tamed them. Black, solid gray, and gray tabbies. If you want a sweet kitten to cuddle, please call Tom at 573-348-4433 (Osage Beach). They have already had their shots, and if you need assistance with spay/neuter when they are old enough, the Blue Moon can help with that, too.

MOLLY NEEDS A HOME! She's a rescued Black Lab mix, only 1 1/2 years old, and very sweet and loving. She likes kids and other dogs. She weighs only 60-65 pounds. Please call Matt at 573-286-6765 or the home # is 573-873-5002.

We know of a DEAF white/black Aussie who needs a great home asap. He was dumped at a local facility with his sister. Deaf dogs needs special consideration. Please check him out on our website for more information. Since his sister acts as his guide, we would prefer they go to a forever home together - twice the love!

A WHITE GERMAN SHEPHERD needs a forever home! Please call Larry at 417-860-5703 for more details. He's a loving dog and deserves a great home.

BLUE MOON CELEBRATES 12 YEARS AT LAKE OF THE OZARKS

Blue Moon Sanctuary is celebrating its 12th year of service to animals in the Lake area. Founded by five women, the organization exists to provide forever homes for approximately 115 special needs animals. Most of the animals are either physically or emotionally challenged due to abuse or neglect by humans. With these ladies in their private homes, the animals live in a warm and nurturing environment with their special needs addressed. No animal in the care of the Blue Moon is caged.

As important, the organization provides spay and neuter assistance, as well as assists with medical bills for people who can't afford emergency care for their pets. Overpopulation is a huge issue at the Lake, and the group is often inundated with calls about animals being dumped. Sometimes, the person finding the animal will be able to keep it, but will need financial assistance for vet visits and spay/neuter. Most of the money raised by Blue Moon goes directly back to the community in the form of public assistance. The organization is a 501(c)3 organization, and virtually all of the money raised goes directly to help the animals at the Lake.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! THE 2012 BLUE MOON GOLF BENEFIT WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, AT OSAGE NATIONAL GOLF COURSE! MORE DETAILS WILL FOLLOW.

PLEASE SPAY/NEUTER YOUR PET!

Countless animals are being dumped with their newborn litters. All the local shelters are beyond capacity, and there's no safe place for these many unwanted litters. Please spay and neuter your pet before more litters are born!.

There is NO excuse for this type of behavior! If you can't afford the fee, Blue Moon and other organizations will assist in paying the spay/neuter costs for your pets.

BLUE MOON ALSO DOES WILDLIFE REHAB

Mary Ann Golden, our certified wildlife rehabber, has received lots of phone calls for assistance with wild animals. She's had a wide variety of animals, including fox, coyotes, song birds, oppossums and raccoons over the years. She has a special touch with these delicate creatures and has great success in helping them succeed in the wild. No wild animal is ever kept as a pet. If you encounter an injured or seemingly abandoned wild animal, please call Mary Ann for assistance. They require special handling and diets, and the animal's life depends on you making the right call - please don't try to take care of them yourselves.

THRIFT SHOP

Our Thrift Shop is located at 167 E. Hwy 54, in Camdenton, across the street from McDonald's. If you would like to volunteer your time, we need the help. We are also accepting donations and would appreciate anything you may have.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a small group of women who have a lifetime of caring for and loving all creatures on our planet. In October of 1999, our deep concern inspired us to form Blue Moon Sanctuary, Inc., a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation.

We are small, but we are firmly committed to helping homeless, abused or abandoned dogs and cats through contributions and your donated efforts. Permanent homes will be found with pre-approved, caring individuals in return for a modest donation to our organization. Dogs and cats that are not now, or may never be deemed adoptable, will be provided a loving, permanent home here at our Sanctuary.

Our continued efforts are only possible with contributions from concerned, supportive individuals. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We invite ALL interested, caring individuals to inspect our sanctuary (by appointment) or visit with us and learn more about our future plans. We are ALL volunteers and ALL FUNDS donated will be used for the animals.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ADOPTING A NEW FAMILY MEMBER?

If so, all prospective families must complete an adoption application prior to adopting a Sanctuary animal. Once approved, the prospective family will make an appointment to meet the animal they wish to adopt. To receive a copy of the adoption form, email . Blue Moon asks for a donation of $50.00 for young, adult, and mixed breed dogs and $40.00 cats. There will be a $100.00 donation for purebred dogs and puppies. Please remember, all animals at Blue Moon are altered and have current vaccinations.
