Our Mission 

SEMO Animal Rescue Alliance, Inc is not a shelter. As volunteers, we house our rescue dogs either in our own homes, or in foster homes if available, until they are successfully placed with their new adoptive families.  We make the commitment to each and every animal to resolve any health or behavioral issues prior to adoption, and all dogs are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and heartworm tested. 

Our application and home visit process ensures we are placing these dogs in the homes best suited to them. Our goal is save as many as possible and unite them with loving and caring owners so that they will never suffer or know sadness and loneliness again.

Please do not breed or buy while shelter animals die.  Consider adoption your first option!

 Adopting A Friend For Life 

Please complete our online Adoption Application.  It is the first step toward bringing home your new family member.  If you would prefer to have us email you the application, please let us know!  We'd be happy to send it.

Since our adoptable animals are are fostered in individual homes, an adoption application must be completed before visiting them. Fostering in our homes also allows us the opportunity to get to know each animal well.  Your application will give us insight into your preferences and expectations and will allow us to match your family with the right canine companion. 

Step 1: Complete the adoption application

Step 2: We perform a Vet Check and Home Visit.

Step 3: Adoption donation paid & contract signed.

Please be certain that you are ready to adopt and that you are ready to be responsible for your new companion for their entire lifetime.  Our goal is to place each one in their forever home.  The application asks a lot of questions that you may think are not necessary but it is in the best interest of the animals. No adoption will be approved without a home visit and a signed contract.  No exceptions will be made. Your adoption donation is non-refundable after the adoption is complete. However you will be required to return the animal to us if the adoption does not work out.

Sponsor A Homeless Animal - You can help by sponsoring one of our adoptable pets. A regular monthly donation or a one time gift makes all the difference!  These donations help us to feed and provide flea/tick and heartworm preventatives to the animals in our care, as well as help pay for the necessary trips to the vet.

 How We Support Our Rescue 

Our rescue depends solely on donations from the public.  The donation we receive when a dog is adopted, in most cases do not cover our vetting expenses. Please help by making a donation via the PayPal button to the right and thank you for caring.
